Brain Trust: Hackathon to Help Veterans

February 19 – 21

Veterans Hackathon
February 19 - 21, 2016 | Galvanize San Francisco

Join us at Galvanize for a full weekend dedicated to brain health innovations for Veterans experiencing mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Currently, 11-20% of Veterans from Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) are living with PTSD during a given year, and approximately 22% of all combat wounds in OEF/OIF are brain injuries (compared with 12% in Vietnam).

The time is now for our community to come together and address new opportunities to support the brain health of our Veterans.

Schedule

  1. February 19

  2. Evening networking event with all participants

  3. February 20

  4. Kickoff speakers, participant pitches, and team selection

  5. February 21

  6. Complete prototypes and deliver pitches to judging panel

Up to three winning teams in Austin and San Francisco may be invited to showcase their innovation at the Brain Trust Innovation Showcase in Washington, DC on April 20-21, 2016.
