Our Standard

Because education decisions are so important and because we want to do everything we can to help prospective students make the most informed decisions, we are implementing new initiatives and holding ourselves to a strict, new Galvanize Standard.

What prospective students most often want to know is: How many of our graduates do find jobs after graduation? In other words, what is our job-placement rate? They want to know which companies most frequently hire Galvanize graduates and what the average salary is for the jobs our graduates secure.

We get it.

Where students choose to invest in their education is one of the most important decisions of their lives. These are precisely the sort of critical questions that should be asked and, it should go without saying, the answers to these questions should be rooted in fact, supported by clear data and measurable—and verified—metrics. After all, prospective students are looking for the information that can offer them some idea of what they may expect from the return on their educational investment.

Unfortunately, some education providers have made their job-placement rates difficult to understand and even more difficult to trust. Several investigations have revealed false or inflated job-placement rates, dismal completion rates, inconsistent metrics and deceptive and aggressive recruiting tactics.

At Galvanize, we have had our job-placement rates, and the underlying methodology for how we calculated those rates, independently verified by a third-party accounting firm. Effective immediately, we are making this information available here on our website.

We also have had our marketing materials and student recruitment efforts, along with our lender relationships, reviewed by independent, outside experts to help ensure our Galvanize materials and procedures are not deceptive and misleading for prospective students. We will continue to have this data independently reviewed, annually.

The Galvanize Standard will ensure that our prospective and current students will have the same student-protection and job-placement information and materials as our management team and Board of Directors.

We’re not stopping there. In addition, we will invest in further training for our admissions counselors to ensure that our prospective students get accurate information about our programs and credits; we will continue to prioritize hiring and recruiting qualified instructors; and we will continue to partner with lending institutions that are in line with our Galvanize Standard and are equally transparent in their practices.

It is our hope that our Galvanize Standard will help provide prospective and current students with the crucial information they need and thereby the confidence and peace of mind to make the best, most informed decisions.
