Tools will be used to easily collaborate on projects and to develop, iterate, and deploy sophisticated analytical models
San Francisco, CA. – May. 12, 2015 – Galvanize, a leader in industry-focused education, today announced that it has partnered with Domino Data Lab, a data science platform used by many large-scale enterprises. Data science programs at Galvanize include GalvanizeU, a 12-month accredited masters program powered by the University of New Haven offered at Galvanize’s San Francisco campus, and Galvanize Data Science, a 3-month immersive program offered at Galvanize campuses in San Francisco, Seattle, and Denver. This is the first time Domino Data Lab has partnered with a business focused on immersive, industry-focused education.
Data science teams are very collaborative, and often consist of people with coding experience working alongside statistical modelers and algorithm engineers. Galvanize’s data science programs have students with a similar diversity of backgrounds and an emphasis on pair programming. Through partnering with Domino, Galvanize faculty and students will have access to a common technology platform that fosters a highly collaborative environment.
“The technologies Domino provides are the perfect way to enhance our data science curriculum,” said Ryan Orban, VP of Business Operations at Galvanize. “We want students to learn as many industry skills as possible in a short period of time. Thanks to these tools, both students and faculty will be able to iterate and collaborate on projects extremely quickly.”
“This is a brilliant way to operationalize statistical and data science models across the enterprise. I can’t wait to see how far users take the system,” said Michael Thorne, Student at GalvanizeU, powered by the University of New Haven.
The Domino Data Lab team will operate at Galvanize’s San Francisco campus, so faculty will be able to integrate their expertise into Galvanize’s curriculum and establish an open dialogue between students and the Domino Data Lab founding team.
“Galvanize is filling a critical need by creating a vibrant community and top-tier educational programs geared specifically toward data science. We are thrilled to participate in the Galvanize community and to enrich students’ education by sharing the perspective we’ve gained from deploying Domino in some of the world’s most analytically sophisticated enterprise settings,” said Nick Elprin, Co-founder at Domino Data Lab
Galvanize is currently accepting applications for all of its data science programs. Prospective students can learn more and apply at Galvanize.com/courses.
