Meet our newest Galvanize Developers!
Introducing the first Galvanize Austin Cohort! We selected our students for their quantitative ability and background, programming experience, business acumen, and communication skills.
They’re bridging impressive backgrounds with 24 weeks of hands-on, project-based web development training.
Our graduates are web developers with backgrounds in IT, tech support, biology, marketing, law, accounting and more. Graduates hold degrees in disciplines like mathematics, business administration, and computer science. Each candidate is excited to join the industry in a full-time web development role.
At Hiring Day, you and your team will have the opportunity to see projects they built, meet them face-to-face, and review their backgrounds in detail. It’s like speed dating for hiring. Not looking to hire now? That is totally fine, come check out the projects and learn about how we are educating our students! The event also includes snacks, a networking event, and a closing happy hour. There’s really no better way to meet qualified candidates in a single day. Afterwards, you are free to continue the conversation in the format of your choice.
Galvanize Hiring Day Schedule:
2:00 PM: Doors open & Snack served
2:30 PM: Welcome and Company Introductions
3:00 PM: Capstone Project Presentations
Listen to our graduates present an overview of their personal projects. They’ll explain their stack and show off the technical details.
4:00 PM: Networking with the graduates in a less formal setting and learn more about their projects and backgrounds. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask any questions of the staff.
5:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Happy Hour
After the presentations you’ll meet graduates that match your job description. Learn more about their projects, technical skills, and backgrounds. Interviews are 10 minutes long, which is just enough time to decide whether you’re interested in continuing the conversation.
Our focus at Galvanize is on serving our students, so we don’t charge recruiting fees. There is no fee to attend this event, nor does Galvanize charge a placement fee. We’d love to have you give back and help us build the community through guest lectures, hosting a project, or contributing to our diversity scholarship fund.
In order to get the most of this event and to respect the time and effort of our students’ work, we request that your company send at least one representative that can attend the entire event.
