Learn to Code: Hack the Dot

February 8 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Hack the Dot is a two-hour hackathon where coding school students, junior developers, experienced developers, marketers, designers and curious web people come together to build ideas around a domain name. Our events are meant to be a quick and fun way to build a humorous (and functional) product quickly, while meeting people in your tech/startup community.

There will be pizza.

What to Bring / How to Prepare:

• Bring your laptop (fully charged). Bring your charger just in case.

• Install the Atom text editor. Go here: https://atom.io/

• Setup a github.com account

WHEN: THURSDAY, November 17th, 2016 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM
WHERE: Galvanize Seattle (111 South Jackson Street, Seattle, WA 98144)

The absurdly awesome domain-driven hackathon is back @ Galvanize Seattle to keep the summer party going!

How does it work?

Step 1: Attendees are broken up into random teams and assigned spirit animals to guide their efforts.

Step 2: All teams are provided with an undisclosed single premium domain name by name.com, arbitrary and often hilarious.
The only hint: Make Email Servers Great Again!

Step 3: Team have just two hours to come up with a functioning site inspired by that domain. The team builds the most creative and fun idea for the domain wins.

Participants will be judged on four criteria: (1) functionality, (2) design, (3) humor, and (4) creative domain name interpretation.
