Join us for dinner and coding with other Boulder area ladies in tech!
Can’t make it to this event? We are having the same event in Denver on October 10th
We’re partnering with Women Rising for this event — a non-profit platform that seeks to connect women in tech with peers and mentors. Their site is open-source and they’d love more folks to work on improving it, but you’re also welcome to work on your own projects. The real point here is solidarity and community!
All are welcome regardless of gender, skill level, or whether or not you’ve attended past GDI events. If you’re a beginner, we’ll be right there to help you get set up!
This is relaxed and informal. Feel free to come early, stay late, and/or drop in whenever you can. Here’s our proposed schedule, but it will be loose:
• 5:30 – 6:00 PM: Grab food and meet other attendees.
• 6:00 – 6:15 PM: Quick intro to the project and suggestions for what things to work on
• 6:15 PM – 8:00 PM: Open coding time.
If you want to contribute to the Women Rising site, check out the instructions for setting up your environment on the Women Rising ReadMe under “Development Environment.” You’ll need to install Homebrew, RVM, postgres, bundler and set up a database.
If you have no background in coding but still want to contribute, come help us brainstorm some marketing or other ideas. Or we can get you set up on a front-end online course and we’re happy to answer questions.
Big thank you to Women Rising and their supporters for making this event possible.
We’re here to help! If you have additional questions or would like to talk further before signing up for an event, please contact Cara Jo Miller, Louisa Barrett, or Bree Thomas at [masked]. You can also reach out to Women Rising at [masked].

NOTE: If we have fewer than 6 people signed up for this class up to a week before the starting date, it will be postponed for a later date.
All attendees are expected to abide by the Girl Develop It Code of Conduct.
