Welcome to Analyze Boulder 41! Please note we’re at Galvanize Boulder’s new space is at 1023 Walnut.  Below is our agenda for this month. Contact us if you want to give a 5-minute flash talk on any data-related subject at a future event.

Micheal Paul analyzes social media to measure population health, like tracking the spread of flu, measuring sentiment toward vaccination, and trends in drug use.

Joey Azofeifa uses statistical learning in genetics and precision medicine, and will talk about a new mixture modeling framework to identify non-coding regulatory elements in high through put sequencing data.

Katherine Misken will take us through Rocky Flats environmental sampling data, food webs, toxicology models, year of programming all this, and risk-based results, for humans and non-humans alike.

Chris Vargo takes on the myth that vaccines cause autism, and analyzes people spreading it online. Using 6 years of Twitter data, the Google Maps API, machine learning and census data, we’ll see where it’s coming from, and who might be generating it.

As always, we’ll have plenty of great beer on tap for you to enjoy!!
